NEATH YOUNG FARMERS CLUB 

 

So YFC seems right for you, and you would like to join Neath & District Young Farmers Club?

 

Well that’s a good choice as you will be joining a Club with rich heritage and history. In its 70th year Neath YFC has a proud tradition for being one of the best Clubs within the Glamorgan Federation. Throughout the year there are a number of competitions at County, Wales and National level for members to sink their teeth into, with Neath having competed at all throughout the years.

 

Following on from the Platinum Ball to celebrate Neath YFC's 70th year in December 2013, the members for the coming year proved that Neath is definitely the place to be. So far in 2014, Neath YFC have had a bumper year winning the National Choir Competition, County Stock Judging Shield, County Recruitment Cup, Senior Public Speaking at County and Wales, the Rally Day Cup, the Winter Shield, and the Overall Shield for 2014.

 

On top of this members have represented County and Wales in stock judging and public speaking, as well as many other competitions. Individuals from Neath YFC have won Best Senior Public Speaker at County and Wales and Senior Member of the Year at Wales YFC and even National. 

 

Whilst all of our members know how to work hard, we also know how to play hard too!

 

As a registered charity we do a large amount of work in the community, from singing at concerts to getting youngsters involved in agriculture. As it is our 70th year this year, we have very kindly been given a 1960's Fordson Dexta Tractor to raise funds for the Club, which we are raffling at the end of this year in our Annual Dinner & Dance. 

 

Social nights can vary from archery, to a talk on how to train your sheep dog to a games evening; and members are always involved in arranging the next big barn dance or formal dinner as well as attending numerous social events across the County.
